My little pumpkin

These last 6 months sure have been busy! The only type of crafting I've been doing is related to this wee one so figured I would post my Halloween fun I had with Isabel.

Hand quilted fox

I was asked by Molly Shore to quilt a square that will be part of a collaboration quilt for Jenna Roebuck's baby (my pretty much niece or nephew). I believe there are twelve of us taking part, all choosing a northern Canadian animal. This was my first time quilting, and I ended up hand quilting. I watched the entire Downton Abbey series while making this fox. I think I did a pretty epic job - thanks to Periwinkle Quilting & Beyond on Broadway for their amazing selection of fabrics.

I can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Drawing birds with coloured pencils

I was home sick last Monday and instead of staring at the t.v. I decided to open up a Christmas gift I got from my partner Thomas on how to draw various types of birds with coloured pencils.

This is something I have never excelled in, or really tried to do properly before. Working with colour is hard. It takes a lot of patience with all that layering!

This little Rufous Resting took me 3 hours to complete. I drew it while listening to A Storm of Swords audio book. It was a glorious sick day. My goal is to complete each bird in this book (hopefully I will improve each time). 

Not Chantelle Berg quality, but it's pretty good for my first one.

Wish I would've found this bee before the Exhibition Art Showcase - look at that pollen!

Almost threw this out half way through. Painting a photograph Grandma took of me and Great Grandma in her garden for the Ex art showcase. Theme: Gardens. Just have to add a few bees and I'll win.

Tuque for Arthur

Starting a bonnet/tuque for Arthur this coming winter.

Mittens in July

Hot July weather? Better knit some mittens with Icelandic Wool.
Made up the pattern, and it totally worked. Will share the pattern once I remove it from my brain write it out on paper.
